Floating wind turbines

The EOLE Project

In order to meet the XXL requirements for the large-scale deployment of floating wind turbines, Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port has identified offshore wind power as an essential growth driver in its future development. With the ÉOLE project, Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port aims to place at the disposal of the offshore sector a dedicated industrial integration base for fixed-foundation and floating wind turbines.

Altantic Offshore Energy

Electrical Offshore Substations' constructor

Renowned for its shipbuilding, Chantiers de l’Atlantique has created a Marine Energy business unit with a focus on offshore electrical substation design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.

In total, Atlantic Offshore Energy is 3.2 GW of renewable electricity collected and injected on European networks through our substations. Moreover, future generations of HVDC direct current substations will soon see the light of day in Montoir.

With a portfolio of offshore wind turbines ranging in size from 6 MW to 14 MW, GE Renewable Energy is among the top offshore wind energy companies in the world. Since its opening, the Montoir de Bretagne site has been dedicated to producing Haliade 150, which stands 170 meters tall and has a 150-meter-diameter rotor.

Now, GE Renewable Energy is developing Haliade-X 14 MW, the most powerful offshore wind turbine in operation in the world, with 220-meter rotaor and 107-meter blade.
