What we can achieve
Multifunctional Berth (Berth 1-3)
Modern deepwater terminal with multimodal connectivity for tailored logistics solutions in close proximity to the mouth of the Elbe River and the Kiel Canal. The port of Cuxhaven can be accessed by vessels with a draft of up to 15.19 meters.
Berth 4
“Berth 4, connected to the multifunction terminal, is suitable for jack-up vessels and also provides an additional storage area of 85,000 square meters. This storage area is designed for heavy loads to meet the requirements of offshore handling.
Berth 5-7
Berths 5-7, the so-called gap closure, will connect the surrounding berths with each other. The expansion will provide an additional quay length of 1,257 meters and a total terminal area of 28 hectares. Construction of the berths will commence at the end of 2024 and be completed by the end of 2026 / beginning of 2027.
Offshore-Terminal I (Berth 8)
The Offshore Terminal I is equipped with a gantry crane capable of loading 500-ton heavy tripiles (foundation bodies) or 70-meter-long tower segments. Ships with a length of up to 110 meters and a water depth of 7.40 meters KN (LAT) can dock at the berth.
Offshore-Terminal II (Berth 9)
Through Offshore Terminal II, components such as rotor blades, hubs, nacelles, towers, and other heavy cargo can be loaded. Berth 9 is designed for heavy loads up to 10 tons per square meter.
RoRo-Ramp (Berth 9.3)
The RoRo ramp at Berth 9.3 has a capacity of 1,200 tons and allows ships with a draft of up to 12.70 meters to dock there. This area covers an area of 116,000 square meters.
Logistic Area
The logistics area of 5.4 hectares is suitable for heavy loads of any kind up to 25 tons per square meter. This area is located directly adjacent to the deep-sea waters of the Elbe and is also connected to the port’s internal road system, which is suitable for heavy loads.
Heavy Duty Platform
The 1,500 m² heavy-duty platform is suitable for the shipment of various heavy-duty components. The platform has a load capacity of up to 90 tons per square meter.
Berth 9.1 - 9.5
The port of Cuxhaven offers the following loading options: via heavy-lift vessels, mobile cranes, jack-up vessels, SPMT (Self Propelled Modular Transporter), RoRo ramps, and gantry cranes.

In recent years, the seaport of Cuxhaven has experienced significant development and has become Germany’s only fully developed offshore manufacturing and installation port, already known as the ‘German Offshore Industry Center.’ Strong partners such as Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE), Nordmark GmbH, and Titan Wind Energy GmbH are present on-site. Additionally, numerous other partners in Cuxhaven cover the entire range of port services.
Cuxhaven stands out particularly due to the combination of a multifunction terminal and the focus on handling heavy loads. With a total area of 450 hectares, the port boasts optimal infrastructure for the offshore and heavy lift industries. From here, offshore wind turbines of all sizes are shipped to their worldwide destinations.
