About us

Strong Cooperation for a Sustainable Future

Port Alliance is the strong cooperation of Europe’s leading ports. Through close collaboration, we aim to tackle the challenges of modern maritime transport. Currently, ports in Germany, Belgium, England, France, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Poland are part of the Port Alliance. Our goals are clearly defined: the cooperation aims to implement political initiatives and promote sustainable solutions in the field of offshore wind energy.

We believe that only close partnership and cooperation among ports can be the key to success, especially in times of global challenges. The Port Alliance is committed to sustainable practices, invests in environmentally friendly technologies, and shares knowledge on best practices to ensure the environmentally friendly development of future maritime transport.

Our goal

Ambitious Goals for Europe's Energy Future

The Port Alliance has set ambitious goals. By 2030, we plan to install at least 60 GW of offshore wind power, and by 2050, this number should reach 340 GW. These ambitious targets require significant investments in port infrastructure to address the capacity challenges exacerbated by the growing demand for renewable energy.

We understand that only with support from both politics and industry can the adaptation and expansion of infrastructure for the energy transition be achieved. Therefore, our cooperation calls for clearly defined political goals and strategies to secure the long-term development and competitiveness of our ports. By integrating environmentally friendly practices and expanding the use of renewable energy, we aim to ensure the sustainability of our ports.

We focus on diversifying energy supply and significantly reducing dependence on authoritarian states. Through our close, Europe-wide collaboration, we seek to find innovative solutions to the challenges of today and tomorrow, making port locations more attractive to new talent. Our alliance is ready to actively participate in implementing the necessary measures and thus make a significant contribution to the positive development of the European economy.
